A Goatie Goatie Christmas for Me!

My list to Santa never includes things like diamonds or a new car. Nope, those are not for me! I am just not that kind of gal! What makes me jump up and down like a 5 year old and squeal with glee?

Christmas goats, that's what!!! Today  I was telling Hubby how the lady I had gotten my pygoras from had some babies and he ask me is that what I would like for Christmas..well you all know that it is! So me and The Boy loaded up and went for a drive. When we got home we had these little stocking stuffers...

Charlie,my new buck! That means I will have my own woolie babies next year!
He is actually champagne colored and has fabulous hair!
I can not wait to see what kind of kids he makes with my woolie girls! Of course, right now he is little and cuddly and not stinky!

Along with Charlie is little Susie! There were 3 little black girls there but The Boy fell in love with her  and that meant she had to come home with us.
She is tiny with the sweetest face and floppy ears!
They have been hand raised so they are just the sweetest lovable little balls of fluff! They both have healthy appetites and haven't stopped eating since they got here!
Now I have 3 girls and a boy. That is the perfect makings for my own little herd of pygoras! Yep, it's a Goatie Goatie Christmas for me!

Goodie for you! I am like you in my choices for gifts. Darling. You should have gotten them to throw in a wether for his companion when you have to separate them. Will you be spinning the wool? Let me know if you start selling it someday.

Michaele,
We have a pygmy weather and a Nigerian Dwarf buck so he will not be lonely when he goes over to live with the "guys"! Yes I will be spinning their wool,I can't wait!

EXCELLENT gift idea! I wish someone..anyone in a 500 mile radius raised angoras. I would have a few too. I just made my second scarf and my knitting skills are alot better. I made friends with one of my farmer Market folks and she has the loom to spin. ( I hope thats what its called anyway) and she said if I had the fiber she would spin. I was pretty excited and then I met a sweet couple who drove for 2 days to pick up a couple pups from my Pyrenees babies this summer. They raised Angora goats. If I wanted a road trip I could head their way. Your babies are just adorable and now I will have to set my sites on my own....but I'll have to wait till July. I would love to see some more on your fiber goats, so please post a few pictures and let me know how and when you harvest that fiber. Love to know more!

Recently folks were giving pygmy goats away on a yard sale online. We missed out or I would have added some to our farm for the cuteness bling factor!! So adorable.

what breed are they???

Melodie said...

shawna,
They are Pygoras...a relatively new breed that is a pygmy angora cross. They have some of the softest hair for spinning!

Melodie, what a great Christmas gift for you both!!!
I love goats! And these go to be the cutest! How much fun is this!?

Your KIDS are adorable!! WOW!! An angora goat for Christmas is MUCH better than a silly ole diamond. It just sits on your finger. But your angora kid will eventually give you scarves, hats, gloves and maybe even a sweater. Not to mention all the fun and love!! Can't wait to see the babies :-}}
