Dirty Donkeys!
We have finally started getting some rain and that means it is the season of the Dirty Donkeys! Donkeys love, love, love to roll in the dirt! Well, at least ours do so I am assuming all other donkeys do too. You all will have to excuse the glowing eyes,I forgot to turn off the flash. Bonnie and Clyde really are not zombie donkeys...honest!
Clyde is a nice bright white when he is clean. Now he is a lumpy ,clay pot gray! Bonnie does her share of rolling in the mud too, but it doesn't show up as bad on her spotted coat.
They share a feed pan always ,even though there are several out there they will always eat out of the same one. Bonnie and Clyde are very bonded and are never far from each other.
Donkey love..it is a sweet and dirty thing!

Nothing like dirty donkey love! Wait, that sounded bad....*Winks*
lol! love it!
So cute! Love the names too as they seem as inseparable as the real Bonnie and Clyde
Awww, so sweet. Not like the goats. They'd be butting the heck out of each other.
Don't know what it is about dirt but you're right, they do love it.
We sometimes see wild donkey when we go out into the desert, they are so sweet looking - but I don't dare getting too close, super sharp hooves.
I love seeing yours - they always look so content and loved
Enjoy your day!
They're adorable!!
What fun playing in the dirt!!!
Sweet and dirty indeed!!
Haha. Nice pictures and a cute story, too. :)
How sweet is that eating out of the same dish!
They are so cute eating together, dirty or not! :)
That's surprised me. I always thought they were clean critters.
Do they have 'dust baths' like chickens then Melodie, to keep clean (?!!) like?
Cute anyway you look at it. I love that donkeys bond so well. I hate to see just one.
Awww, they are cute together! What is the deal with the mud??? Are they hot? Flies biting them? Or do they just like mud baths?? Again...I know nuthin' about donkeys either. I hear they are wonderful creatures though.
Chris and Lin,
They just like to roll in the dirt like most critters...get rid of bugs..scratch..it is fun.We have black clay soil so when it is wet it just sticks all over them!
That last picture is adorable!
All together now... Aaaawwwwww...
I am quite smitten with the donkey these days. On the way to taking my daughter to the stables I will sometimes see a bunch of them next door. There is no telling when they will be out and when they won't be and EVERY TIME they have been out I have not had my camera with me. I almost always have it in my purse...but not when the donkeys out. It is killing me. I love donkey ears like nothing else. They are the funniest, cutest, most intriguing things ever! Do they just have a mind of their own or what????
OH ps....Rain!?! Yaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy!
THANK YOU SWEETIE
How cute are these two!? Donkeys....my favourite critter next to goats! Sophie, I didn't really men that! Honestly!
Aww!
You know, all my knowledge about donkeys is second hand. I don't think I've ever "met" a donkey! :-)
Greetings from Minneapolis!
