Semi Wordless Wednesday

Because, let's face it...apparently I don't know how to be wordless!

You might be a redneck gardener if.....

you plant carrots in old bath tubs....

or tomatillos in old smokers....

Ok, I'll bite. What is a tomatillo? If I had a bathtub like that , ity would go into the greenhouse for a watering container.

IanH,

they are kind of like a tomato that grows in a husk, mine are green but they come in other colors I think. They are used in a lot of Mexican dishes and sauces...yummy!

I love the tub!!! I am obsessed with old tubs. The smoker's not bad either. It's country chic.

Great containers! Love the paint job on the bathtub! I love tomatillos. I plan to plant some and peppers so I can make homemade salsa from my garden. Well, that will only happen if I can ever get my planter beds finished and it stops raining.

Oh, I should paint my bathtub instead of it being all boring. It still needs plants too. Yours look like they are doing great.

I *love* your bathtub! What a great way to display the Texas flag. I love it! My family have been native Texans for a long time and my dad was very proud of that fact. He always sported a texas flag on his vehicles. :) He is gone now, but I imagine he displays one in heaven. :D

What great ideas! Do you do anything particular with the soil you put in to grow with? Or just a lot of compost?
I am loving your blog. Loved the pictures of Clyde, too. :)
