The Fallen

As I drove to the post office this morning I saw the whole road through town was lined with flags and I began to weep.

This road lined with flags leads to the cemetery...

We have lost one of our own here in Coldspring...Sgt.1st Class Calvin B. Harrison. Just click on his name to read about this amazing man. I did not know him but it does not matter,I grieve for him like he was mine some how.

This afternoon my son, joined by his fellow scouts, will go to the cemetery to put out American flags  to make ready the end  of the journey for our fallen soldier.

Sgt. Harrison will come home forever tomorrow afternoon...

This all seems like so little for a man who gave his life for our country....may you forever have peace Sgt.Harrison.

How very sad. It is these fine men and women that deserve so much of our gratitude for what they have done for us. We have lost quite a few here in Nova Scotia as well. Makes one stop and think. Lovely tribute Melodie.

It's sad either way, but when it hits your hometown, it brings it so much closer, doesn't it?

I read that wonderful man's obituary. Such a sad, sad thing to lose such a man. We'll be thinking of him tomorrow when he comes home to rest.

Those flags are beautiful and what a wonderful tribute to one of our own. You know, we hear and read about who died for our country, but it doesn't hit home until you see something like this. I pray for his family and may God bless him.

Such a nice tribute, but so sad. Way too many young men and women have been lost. I am sorry for your community's loss too.

Prayers for the Harrison family. THANK YOU Sgt. Harrison, for your sacrifice. THANK YOU to his family, for giving their son for our freedoms. And THANK YOU to your community, for honoring this young man on his final journey.

what a beautiful tribute!
you know it reminds me so much of when the duke of devenshire died at the stately home called CHATSWORTH HOUSE
the entire staff, footmen, secretaries, cooks in their whites, groundsmen, delivery boys, grooms EVERYONE,,,, lined up on the grand drive, just like these flags and bowed their heads as the coffin went past

best wishes

May this young man rest in peace. He and so many others have given so much, everything.

I so wish all our service men and women could come home, just not like this. I just wish they could all come home.
