Fun

I hope everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving!  Hubby made it home just in time for ours and will be home through Christmas so we are really happy about that! I don't think he has ever been home for both holidays since he has been working overseas.
Yesterday we went to the Texas Renaissance Festival. We go every year but I can not get Hubby and the Boy to dress up for it!  I think they would both look great in a kilt! This was the last weekend  of the festival. I am glad we went yesterday because it is raining this morning. I thought I would share a few pictures with you...

This  one needs no explaining...! There are so many shops at the festival you can find whatever type of medieval  dress you want!
I love all the costumes! This is a group of faeries.
 A Lord and Lady...
A Knight,a Lady and Maiden and possibly a pirate! Oh, can't forget my favorites, the Highlanders in the back round!
This is the band Wine and Alchemy...
 They were very good!

I did not take these videos but found them on you tube.

This is the group Tartanic. They play the bagpipes and drums and are very funny and have a lot of energy!

This is one of the wedding chapels. Even with the heat and drought of summer it was still lovely.
 Pirates and a barbarian...
A highlander and  some friends...
There was even a storm trooper there wearing a kilt! I wish I had gotten a picture of that.  There were so many great costumes and all kinds of performances! If you have never been and you live close enough to go you should ! I think next year I will make my self a costume even if the boys won't wear one...what do you think..a pirate..a lady..a barbarian....a fairy...What would you be?

I'm so glad your husband can be with you for both holidays this year. Best gift ever, I bet. :)

Looks like you had a great day at the festival. We enjoyed ours too!

So great that hubby will be here for both holidays! That Renaissance fair looks like a lot of fun. I've never been to one, but it's always something I've wanted to do. Maybe next summer...

I've been there before, back when we lived in TX! It's such an awesome time. In fact, they have nothing that can touch it here - our local Medieval festival really stinks in comparison - not even worth going really, even though it's free.

How fun! I went to the rennasaince Fair in MN one year and it was fascinating. So funny how everyone got into character..its the thing to do I understood. My son was around 7yrs old then and he came home with a sword and shield and at 17yrs old now...he still loves Kings and Realms. Happy Thanksgiving to your family and enjoy your family time during the Holidays to come. Its the memories that count!

We get free tickets every year to this festival -- I'm a Texan and yes I think you should dress up. That's what makes this festival SO MUCH FUN --- we get to actually play a part in it! Your pictures were great...looked like a fantastic time!

That's really great that your husband will have both holidays at home! Mine was home too! (Gone again though)

I have always wanted to go to one of those fairs, not sure what I would go as, if I did.

I have been several times, once in Tampa, once in Sarasota, Florida. It was so much fun. You and the Texan must go together next year, with the hubs, and the Son. You two dress up and take pictures. I am waiting. ;-)

Great share, I loved it.

I'd definitely go as a stormtrooper - especially if I could wear a kilt !?!

Great day by the looks of it.

Melodie, that looked like fun! A real step back in time. Being Scottish (50%) I'd have to be wearin a kilt, and a sword would be handy too! Would love to see this.
One question: People are wearing shorts and in short sleeves!? Don't get me going....it's almost December for crying out loud! lol
