Before and After

Rascal is adorably all grown out and  wild looking . He kind of reminds me of an Ewok from Star Wars. Yes my sci-fi nerdiness shines through again! I would happily leave him that way but,and it is a big but let me tell ya, he gets to smelling like I can only imagine Chewbacca might have smelt like after the dip in the garbage compactor! One day I may make him a little Ewok hoodie....Rascal would happily wear it too because he loves to be dressed up...

Since I am the only one who will bathe him I take him every so often to get all that hair shaved off!  Because, let's face it, men and boys do not care if the house they dwell in  smells like stinky dog! Let me set the scene if you will...

Man and boy sitting on the couch watching some show involving shooting and exploding. Woman walks in and states,"Ewww,it smells like dog in here!" Man and boy both sniff and say,"I don't smell anything..." Boy leans down to scratch nearest dog and  lovingly says to said dog,"Don't listen to her,you don't stink." The Boy then shoots the woman a dirty look like she hurled the worst insult ever to said dog. Woman sighs, rolls eyes and walks away.

He is still cute and he gets a lot more scratchins from me when I don't have to hold my nose!
Plus, it cuts down on the baths and me and Rascal both enjoy that because for some reason I smell more like a dog than he does after a bath and I have never met a dog who liked a bath! They work hard at building up that stink and don't appreciate us washing it all off!  Maybe I will get him a Santa coat.....till his hair grows back...just to amuse myself...besides Rascal really does like to wear clothes..honest!

I had to laugh at what TexWisGirl said! Rascal is so adorable. My boys get all grown out like that too and we start thinking they gained a bunch of weight... then after they've been groomed much like Rascal here... we realize how tiny they really are!

Definitely better Melodie, I never got on with the ewoks.

Hey, my pooch looooves baths and goes to sleep in them - lazy bones!

Can't Tex make him a bath robe?

He's cute! This is Isobelle but I'm typing in as an Anonymous. Blogger won't let me sign in for comments that are embedded. Isn't that silly?

Haha. I can see the Ewok side of him!
Look forward to seeing Santa Rascal. :-)

Isobelle,
It took me some searching but I figured out how to change my comments! Hopefully this will be better!

thanks for the follow Melodie....when I say it "smells like dog in here" to my husband he always says "no it doesn't!" -- I roll my eyes and the next day the dog bed gets washed! :-) Rascal is a cutie -- even nude :-)

He's very cute both ways. I hope you share a picture when he's wearing his hooding or Santa coat!

He's a cutie but looks a little embarrased in the last shot. ;)

Nuthin' better than a fresh hair cut even if it does make one feel naked. He even looks like he smells good : )

Adorabibble! I had a dog that was similar in look growing up. My dad would shave her really, really close everywhere except on her head! Poor doggie looked crazy. But she was the sweetest thing ever.

Oh my gosh! He DOES look like an Ewok!! Seriously, one of those brown hoodie jackets would be hilarious!!

What a funny comparison, but I rather liked his fluffy appearance. I often wonder if taking the thinning shears to my big fluff balls would lessen the matted fur...but then they'd get too cold! I think your little buddy has a pretty loveable spot at your place. He sure looks content either way, fluffy or not!

Awww, him turned out purty! But he's awfully cute with all the hair too! :)

I think he's cute either way, but I have to agree about the dog smell - it can get pretty rank sometimes! Jack likes clothes too!

Poor old dog....sure lets wait until WINTER to get all that hair chopped off, I mean why do it in the heat if summer when they NEED all of that mess.
Sorry...it's a male thing !!!
He does look a lot better though.

I was thinking along with GreyWolf. That's why I always stick to short hairs.

Oh Rascal! You were skinned alive!!!! Feels better though I bet.....at least as far as Mama is concerned! lol
And that boy and man thing goin on....they need to get in touch with their feminine side (that ole 'x' chromosome thingy). We did! lol
