Pickled Carrot Sticks

I got a bee in my bonnet,so to speak, to make pickled carrot sticks! I just can't seem to get enough pickled stuff this year for some reason!

I looked up several recipes and ended up with my own combination of ingredients!

Of course, you all KNOW I had to put a jalapeno in every jar, lol!

And a clove of garlic because, really, what are pickles with out a little garlic! I just went the easy route with these, jalapenos ,garlic ,pickling spices and brine. Hot water bath 10 minutes. You can just make a jar and put it  in the fridge if you don't want to can a batch. I don't know how these taste yet ,but the sure look pretty!

They look good! I like the idea of trying just a single jar of something new, rather than a whole batch, so it's good to know I could just do one jar and put it in the fridge.

After I figured out how to measure the spices and brine for one, haha. That way I wouldn't have the disaster I had for my first attempt. ;)

That's right up my alley, would love to try one. I'd eat anything pickled.

Wish you would blog about what you put in your wonton wrappers. Do you do the steaming part?

I had some of the leftover pot stickers for breakfast this morning.

They do look good! Just pickled green beans! Doing tons of tomatoes and freezing sweet corn. Sooo busy, but it all pays of in the winter when you have homegrown produce to eat.

I so love pickled green beans and if the carrots are anything like that I'd be eating a whole jar without pause. Seriously, when I was in college my room mate used to bring back pickled string beans from her mom and I would be guilty of the heinous act of eating that which was NOT mine...

I love pickled stuff! However, our bounty is apples-think we could pickle those? I think not.

Nice work!

They sure look great. And it is something that can be done after the snow flies when there is more available time. No carrots here now - Peter Rabbit got in to the garden and mowed them down...
