Hubby's time home is coming to an end. When he is home it seems we are always in a whirlwind of activity. There's always so much to do  here on the farm. Heck, there's always a lot to do on any farm, even a small one but when your trying to create the farm at the same time that is almost chaos! For those of you who are new to my blog when we moved here a few years ago this was not a farm. It was a rundown over 100 year old house on 15 unimproved acres. We, insert hysterical laughter here, said we would have the house and land the way we wanted in 2 years! We were sooooo wrong! A big part of that is Hubby's job that takes him away more than he is home.  Things have changed for the better with that and he is supposed to be home more in the future. We are keeping our fingers crossed!
Here is one of Hubby's adventures while he was home, sticking this rented tractor in the mud! I tell you all, if something can get stuck in the mud, Hubby is the man to do it! I have know this man since I was 16 and he is just drawn to a mudhole,  which usually means getting stuck there for various amounts of time!  Buy hey,a man needs a hobby right!?! This time he was not looking for the mud the mud kind of  came looking for him! He has been stuck in this spot before,a couple of years ago.
There is probably a spring under this area, it looks perfectly fine unless you drive over it in something heavy then you will sink like quick sand.  Notice the wheels up in the air!
Luckily, since Hubby has been stuck a lot in his life, he is an expert at getting things unstuck!
He and the Boy had the tractor out in no time and were right back to work!
Life with Hubby,a little humor in everyday!

I'm the same way with the skidsteer..but I push the limits. Then I call my son down the road, who usually answers the phone saying "Now what'ld you break, get stuck or do?" I don't like to break things anymore than I already try to do, so then I let him take over. Seems I get scolded on occasion and think, how the tables took a turn on Mom getting the teaching now. My older boys are always shaking their heads. (Maybe, its just that they are watching in the wings and I know they'll help)
On your future in hoping he gets to be home more?? I sure hope so too, I was just thinking this morning and counting the years that fly by and saying to myself...get busy Deb, life is SHORT!! I have plans and I know you do too!!

What is it with men and mud?

OH Crap! Looks like you had the same weather conditions like we did here in Canada...everything is so muddy and well everything sinks. Our poor donkeys, when mud is so unhealthy for their poor feet.

I feel your pain, Melody!

That is quite the impressive sink hole! I get impatient with my farm too, trying to get everything the way I want it. It's so much easier in my dreams.

I bet you have some serious laundry! Love that you man knows how to get out of such jams, and I did not know that about your farm even though I have been visiting you for a long time. That is neat to learn and makes me curious about what all you have done. Give those goaties a scratch for me.

Definitely looks wet there. Glad to hear it was nothing serious!

WOW! Was he ever stuck too!
If there is a spring there - now you know where you can put your pool!! Just dig down - or pond for your animals?

They don't look too upset that it got stuck. ARe you sure they didn't do it on purpose???

When we were new to our farm, I got our little Dixie Chopper seriously stuck once. When we couldn't get it out, we hooked it up to our van to pull it. We proceeded to then get the van stuck. We got a multi-car discount when the tow truck guy had to pull them both out.
I'm so glad your boys could laugh about it all. It's the best way to handle these situations.

I think, no, I know -- they get stuck just to see if they can get unstuck. Happens here all the time. :)

If you live on a farm, someone's bound to get stuck eventually...

I am so glad your hubby will be home more in the future. Sounds like he knows how to have fun while working, like getting unstuck in the mud! :)

Men and boys like mud, it's in their genes.
